Welcome to the year 1742! Close to the German border, in South-Eastern Groningen, stands Fort Bourtange. Step back several hundred years into the past and get to know the fort that was never captured.
Find out all about these unique and historic defences and the wonderful natural environment that surrounds them with the help of this app. Enjoy the eight-kilometre walk (approx. 2 hours) through the fort and the former marshland, where you will find the redoubt, the soldiers’ dyke and the French Line.
